The Village of Glen Ellyn is undertaking an exciting planning process in order to prepare a bold vision for our Downtown. Our residents and merchants have commented that Glen Ellyn's Downtown is one of our Community's greatest assets, which needs to be preserved and promoted.

In February 2008, the Village initiated this planning process, which should take approximately one year to complete. The Downtown Strategic Plan will interweave a market strategy and a planning process with a multiplicity of visual aides to clarify suggestions and recommendations including the following components:

• Data Collection and Existing Conditions Analysis
• Market Analysis and Recommendations
• Parking Inventory, Analysis, and Recommendations
• Historic Inventory and Preservation Recommendations
• Visioning Session and Charette – provide feedback in person!
• Short Merchant Survey – provide feedback while you shop!
• Vision, Goals, Objectives, and “Bubble Diagram” Concept Plans – provide feedback online!
• Consideration of Future Downtown Alternatives
• Adoption of a Downtown Strategic Plan
• Implementation
